“My greatest growth as an artist has come from painting outdoors, for it is in observing nature and the play of light upon an object that the journey begins.”
It is a never-ending journey of mind and spirit nourished by her books on the works of Sargent, Sorolla, and Fechin, and by regular trips to New Yorks Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as trips with her family to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Glacier National Parks.
"Eternal beauty, whether it be the Grand Tetons, or a local scene, has the power to refresh our spirit and restore our vitality and enthusiasm for life. It is in the artists work of quietly observing nature that we are renewed and feel our deeper connection to the wonder of the world around us. The variety in my work reflects my continual desire for artistic growth and expansion on my journey. It is a wonderful challenge that keeps calling me and I feel privileged to be answering the call.
